This Week’s Music Selection from Heidi Dybing

I was asked how I choose the music. This week I had too many different songs running though my head and then during supper last night Field of Gold came on Pandora.  And then I woke up today singing Fields of Gold in my head.  My decision was made!

Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner ( with a long name like that no wonder he goes by Sting!) was born in England in 1951.  Before going solo he was part of the rock band Police.

In composing this ballad, Sting was inspired by the beautiful sunsets at his home bordering a field of barley.  The lyrics tell the story of love…courtship, marriage and death.

“You’ll remember me….when we walked the fields of gold.”
