This Week’s Music Selection from Heidi Dybing

1969.  Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King were gone – assassinated.  Racial tensions. The war. Political divide.
Paul Simon stood in his New York apartment and sang the opening lines, “When you’re weary, feeling small, when tears are in your eyes, I’ll dry them all.”  But then he hit a wall.
Later, listening to a southern gospel group called Swan Silvertones, there was a line in a song….I’ll be your bridge over deep water.”  And then it all came together for Paul.  And we were given this memorable song, Bridge Over Troubled Waters.
It has been this bad before and we made it through.  We will make it again.
